Aydar Akylbek is a filmmaker and cinematographer based in Chicago, originally from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Over 13 years, his work has spanned commercials, branded content, and documentary film across Kyrgyzstan, Prague, Los Angeles, and the American Midwest. He is the founder of Luminade, a high-end production studio built for brands that want work that actually performs.
Film is in his blood. His grandfather was a producer at Kyrgyzfilm. His father worked as a camera operator. Aydar grew up understanding that every frame carries weight, culturally, emotionally, and commercially.
In 2026, he joins the MFA Film Production program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, widely regarded as one of the best film schools in the world.
